Director - Research & Evaluation
A socio-economist by training, Kadambari has over twelve years of experience in the sustainability and development sector. Early in her career, she worked on evaluating agriculture and natural resource projects funded by multilateral/bilateral and government agencies in organisations such as MSSRF (Chennai), TERI (New Delhi) and IFMR LEAD (Chennai). Over time, her interests took on a more varied hue to encompass issues of education & skilling, women’s empowerment, health & hygiene and governance.
Over the last six years, she has worked with corporates and foundations in designing, monitoring and evaluating social impact projects. Her core competency lies in combining evidence-based findings with data analysis to support feasibility studies and evaluation exercises to aid design of customized interventions for program stakeholders. Her passion lies in working with multiple development actors to design and deploy prototypes for large-scale replicable social impact.
Kadambari holds Master’s degrees in Environmental Economics (University of York), Development Studies (University of Sussex) and Sociology (University of California, Riverside). Her spare time is spent visiting wildlife areas, with bird watching being a (relatively) newly acquired hobby! Non-travelling weekends are devoted to masala movies, math puzzles, word games and ‘refreshments’!
