The Sector has the Passion.
We build the Infrastructure.
The Problem We Exist To Solve
India's social sector faces two compounding gaps.
THE INDIVIDUAL GAP
Less than 1% of NGO budgets go to staff development. 49% of leadership program participants are senior leaders — only 18% are mid-level, and frontline staff are almost entirely excluded. Elite programs cost ₹15,000–1,00,000+ per participant — out of reach for most.
The result: Frontline workers invisible. Mid-level leaders unsupported. Strong vision at the top, weak execution pipelines below.
THE INSTITUTIONAL GAP
91% of organizations operate on budgets under ₹10 crore — too small to build institutional infrastructure independently. Organizations that invest in capacity grow at 23% vs. the 15% sector average, with payback periods of just 1–4 months.
The result: Organizations that deliver programs but struggle to evolve, adapt, or outlast funding cycles. Money exists; absorption capacity does not.
Our History

3
Phicus has always believed that the social sector's greatest untapped resource is the organizations and leaders within it. Our work is built on a simple conviction: resilient institutions, led by capable leaders, drive sustainable development - creating the conditions for communities to adapt, recover, and thrive.
We work at three interconnected levels:
Individuals - leaders gain clarity, confidence, and practical skills they apply immediately to real challenges.
Organizations - CSOs and community organizations build stronger systems, clearer strategy, and leadership depth that outlasts any single funding cycle.
Ecosystem - donors, networks, and knowledge partners multiply impact through shared learning and collective infrastructure.
What makes us different is how we work. We are anchored in co-creation, collaboration, and a systems view. We don't build for organizations — we build with them. Every engagement starts with listening: to the organization, its leaders, and the communities they serve. We bring rigour and frameworks, but we never arrive with ready-made answers.
We are domain agnostic and context-driven — our work spans livelihoods, agriculture, climate, education, health, skilling, and rights. What stays constant is the depth of our engagement and the genuineness of our partnership.
We are powered by incredible partners and well-wishers who share our dream: a social sector strong enough to deliver the change the world needs.
